here's a fact that'll really knock your socks off: around 2.8 million tonnes of that plastic waste — which, by the way, is equivalent to the weight of 24 CN Towers — gets dumped in our landfills each year. that's 86% of our plastic waste just hanging out in landfills, with only 9% getting recycled. the remaining either adds to our air pollution through incineration or ends up littering our beautiful environment.
pretty grim, eh? but hang in there, because there's a silver lining. we hold the power to change this narrative, one conscious choice at a time.
🌱 how can i cut down on the waste i produce?
- buy only what you need and can use
- pick products with less packaging
- explore eco-friendly alternatives for everyday items
- hunt for reusable, sustainable options
🔄 how can i give a new life to what i have?
- repurpose daily items to reduce landfill waste
- ditch plastic bags for reusable, eco-friendly ones
- refill a reusable water bottle instead of buying new ones
♻️ how can i recycle the products i use?
- after reducing and reusing, comes recycling
- sort your recyclable items so they can be repurposed
- separate out glass, cardboard, aluminum, and lead batteries
here at local, we're all about glass. it's infinitely reusable, fully recyclable, and just feels good to use. we're doing our bit by cutting down on single-use plastics and introducing reusable alternatives like our hand & body wash glass bottles.
we get it, not all showers can handle a glass bottle, especially if you've got little ones around. that's why we've got you covered with our safer-in-the-shower plastic bottle option, made from easily recyclable materials.
every choice matters. check out our collection of glass bottles >>> here.
thanks for hopping on this journey towards a greener future with us. let's keep the conversation rolling. find us on instagram and let's chat about how we can make a difference, one bottle at a time.
