1. Pick a theme
Choosing a theme for your essential oil class is extremely important! You don’t want to overwhelm your guests with everything they need to know about essential oils. There is a LOT to know about essential oils, and too much information will just confuse them. Stick to a certain topic, and stick to the basics

You can also base your class around a certain season like “Summer Safety with Essential Oils” or “Winter Wellness with Essential Oils”. Holiday-themed classes can also be tons of fun!

2. Gather your materials
Once you have the theme of your class planned out, it’s time to gather the appropriate materials for your essential oil class. Think back to the basics, what are some tools that people need to learn? Pens, pencils, paper for notes, and a clipboard or flat surface for them to write on! Make sure everyone receives a sheet from the tear pad you will be teaching from. If you’re not using a tear pad, make sure people have some sort of general outline of what your class is going to cover. And of course– bring your OILS!
3. The Essential Life Book is a must-have

4. Diffuse essential oils
We definitely recommend having a light diffuser blend going during your class to set the tone! Diffusing just shows another way that essential oils can easily be used around the home, and it’s a great way for everyone to get the aromatic benefits. Plus, the amazing smell is always a great conversation starter.
We suggest diffusing a gentle oil or blend, such as Lavender and Wild Orange. Nothing too complex!

5. Let people sample and smell the oils
Once the bulk of your class is over, it’s time to help people fall in love with these oils! If you’re teaching the class from a tear pad like Healthy with Essential Oils, it will normally focus on 5-10 specific essential oils. We recommend bring the oils that your tear pad focuses on, and passing it around the class as you talk about each one! They can smell it from the bottle, or put a drop in their hands.
6. Share your own experiences
By sharing your own experiences, this allows people to relate to you and it helps them think of similar ways that essential oils can help them. Think of a personal story where essential oils helped you and your family get through a certain situation. Or you can share examples of how easy they are to use around the home on a daily basis. When you share these examples with people, they become more open to the idea of using essential oils as a natural alternative.
7. Provide drinks and snacks at your class
Don't go overboard with this one! Provide your guest with simple beverages like, water, or tea. And choose a light snack like chips and guac. While this tip certainly isn't a necessity, it is definitely a nice gesture.
We don't recommend adding essential oils to the food or snacks you serve at the class. However if you choose to do so, make sure people are aware of it! Some people aren't comfortable with consuming essential oils and that's perfectly okay.
8. Do a draw or offer an incentive
Do a draw for a certain prize, or a goodie bag full of samples. Every one who comes to the class enters the draw, and writes down their name, phone number, and e-mail. This is a great way to gather contact information for follow-ups after your class. You can also offer an incentive when people choose to enroll or buy essential oils from you, and this incentive can be as big or small as you like. Here are some incentive ideas:

9. Always follow up!
This one is pretty simple. Always follow up a day or two after your class. You don't want to wait too long to do this, because people can lose interest quickly or just simply get caught up with a busy life. When you follow up, don't hop right into essential oils. Ask how their doing, how their family is. Naturally set yourself up to then talk about their interested in the natural tools that have been helping you and your family.
10. Don't be to salesy
When it all comes down to it, you're not just selling people essential oils... but a lifestyle change! When you genuinely want to help people, and you share your own experiences and tell stories that are coming straight from your heart, people will recognize that. While the money may be nice, it shouldn't be your main focus. Be real, be honest, and most importantly be someone that they can trust and come to for answers. Don't let your class sound like one big sales pitch!
