8+ Ways to Use Castile Soap

Castile soap is gentle enough to be used on babies, pets, and people with sensitive skin. It is made by combining natural ingredients such as vegetable oil (coconut, avocado, etc.) and caustic soda (A.K.A. sodium hydroxide). It is vegan-friendly and completely biodegradable. Keep reading for eight quick, simple, natural & effective ways to use Castile soap and essential oils around your home and in everyday routines.

  • In 150 ml Foaming Bottle (shop here)
  • 1-1/2 tbsp Castile Soap (shop here)
  • 1/4 tsp of Jojoba or Argan Oil (shop here)
  • Distilled water
  • Face: 4 drops Lavender + 4 drops Geranium essential oil
  • Body: 6 drops Peppermint + 6 drops Orange essential oil or 8 drops Lemon + 4 drops Douglas Fir
  • Hands: 12 drops Protective Blend (dōTERRA: On Guard or Young Living: Thieves)

Other great oils for the face include: Tea Tree, Blue Tansy, Frankincense & Grapefruit. For a gentle baby shampoo/wash, try 4 drops Lavender + 4 drops Chamomile.

Add to ingredients to bottle, top with distilled water, shake and dispense!



  • 2 tbsp Castile soap (shop here)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 8 drops Tea Tree essential oil

Empty toilet and add water, castile soap and tea tree to the bowl. Using a toilet brush, give your bowl a quick swish to mix ingredients and coat all sides. Sprinkle baking soda around the bowl and scrub. You can let it sit for 10 minutes or flush it.

You can store baking soda in a 180 ml Aluminum Shaker Bottle for ease!



  • Bassin
  • About 1 tsp Castile soap
  • 1-3 drops of Lemon essential oil

Fill basin with cold water and let produce soak for 10 minutes to remove dirt, bugs and pesticides. Rinse thoroughly, dry & prep.



  • 250 ml Lotion Pump Bottle (shop here)
  • 1 cup Castile soap (shop here)
  • 1 tbsp Fractionated coconut oil (shop here)
  • 10 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops Lemon essential oil

Add ingredients to lotion bottle and shake. Rinse your pet with water, add a few pumps of shampoo to the palm of your hand and gently massage into fur before rinsing thoroughly. Your pets will have fresh, silky fur in no time!

  • 2 tbsp Alcohol* or white vinegar
  • Option A: 10 drops of each Orange + Peppermint
  • Option B: 5 drops of each Lemon, Lavender + Peppermint

* Perfumery Alcohol (200 proof) or Rubbing Alcohol (91% or higher)

Add ingredients to spray bottle, shake and spray surfaces. Use a cloth to wipe. This is great for tabletops, remotes, switches and handles.
