summer's here: natural, safe, and effective go-to recipes

summer's here: natural, safe, and effective go-to recipes

Summer’s here! Can you feel it?! While we love the great Canadian outdoors, weather and bugs can be hard to predict, and make for some less-than-pleasant summer days or nights. Enter our top 3 go-to essential oils for the season: Lavender, Tea Tree, and Peppermint. Why do we love them so much? We’re glad you asked!

lavender

antioxidant, antimicrobial, antihistamine

Lavender soothes skin irritations, be it from pesky bug bites or sunburnt skin. It’s also our go-to oil when we want a good nights sleep (dab it on your wrists, chest, and temples).

tea tree

antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral

Tea Tree oil’s primary ingredients (terpene hydrocarbons, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes)  make it a very powerful disinfectant, and it helps heal wounds. Use it to kill germs, fight infections, and/or soothe skin.

peppermint

antimicrobial, antiviral, antioxidant

With cooling and invorating properties, Peppermint can help soothe sun-kissed skin, alleviate headaches, and give you a little burst of energy.
